Flowing swiftly like a river from the tongue,
some words are fun to say,
words, like “Saskatchewan.”
Others muck around in your mouth,
like “burglar’ and “rural” and “isthmus”
your tongue flopping south and west.
Same goes for people’s names,
some are grating, others divine
like cacophonous Gertrude, euphonious Caroline.
Parsing words is tough, but parsing syllables is a task of its own. I really don’t know how you do it.
I’m not visual, but auditory. It comes naturally for me. Thanks for reading, Rodney!
I came in search of hoodoo, and found so much more. 😉
I’m one o them northern invaders, in this here southern Carolina,
(And I think your tolerating us article was thoroughly researched, hi-larious,and spot on.)
Thanks for some good reading!
Thanks, Ben! If you check out the comments on the piece, you see that some of you northern invaders aren’t as appreciative as you. Cheers!
oh booo… I don’t see a way to access comments on that post. (I’d assumed they were disabled for just that reason.)
