Ode to Oblivion

“Form is emptiness, emptiness form”
The Heart Sutra

The sum of nothing,

            vacuity cubed,

silence so profound,

            saints and sages

stuff their ears

            with cotton.

  1. Thank you for sharing and I learned a new word today, vacuity.

I may not have been, I was not, the best student and know I missed out on a vast knowledge resource in my younger days. I strive to learn something new each day and have for many years. It is encouraging and exciting when I do learn something when I am not trying or looking. This is something I make my children aware of and set a goal for them as well.

Thank you again. I enjoy reading your Hoodoo blog and sorry I didn’t understand the importance of what was in front of me when I was young and not focused on making education the top priority.

    • Thanks for your thoughtful reply, David, and thanks for reading! Believe it or not, I was an indifferent student in high school. I think my final average in Trig my senior year was below 50, so there’s no need to apologize. Cheers!
